I have so many favorite places on the ocean that bring such great memories. I grew up sailing in Penobscot Bay and later had my sailboat in Casco Bay where I now live. Winters are long here and I long for the days when I can feel the sun on my face with my toes in the sand…and I go to Crescent Beach in Cape Elizabeth to do that. The walk to the beach on the boardwalk has a field of sea roses that have a luscious fragrance. The sound of the waves quiets all the noise in my daily world. I reach for my pendant on the really cold days and think about summer and my time on the beach.
